Dave Bautista is an American film actor, former WWE wrestler, bodybuilder, and mixed martial artist of Filipino origin who is best known for his roles in action films. Bautista is a six-time world wrestling champion who rose to prominence through his work with the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment). Bautista entered the film industry in 2006 after establishing himself as a successful wrestler. Dave Bautista made his cinematic debut in the American comedy picture Relative Strangers (2006), directed by Greg Glenna, in which he played an uncredited role. The actor made his professional debut three years after his first movie appearance in My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done? Michael Shannon, Willem Dafoe, Chloe Sevigny, and Udo Kier played key parts in Werner Herzog's film. The film earned largely positive critical reviews after its premiere at the Venice Film Festival in 2009. Confounds every convention and refuses all expected joys, delivering instead the delight of seeing Herzog feed the police hostage formula into the Mixmaster of his imagination, according to Roger Ebert of the Chicago SunTimes.
